STUDENT KICKED OFF CAMPUS, CHARGED WITH CRIMES AFTER RUBBING BODILY FLUIDS ON HER BLACK ROOMMATE’S BACKPACK
The Hartford Courant has our top story this morning:
“Brianna Rae Brochu faces a hate crime charge in a case involving her former roommate at the University of Hartford, West Hartford Police said Wednesday. The university said Wednesday that Brochu is no longer a student there.
Brochu, 18, was arrested on Saturday after admitting to police that she licked her roommate’s dining utensils and smeared bodily fluid on the woman’s backpack.” Those actions reportedly included rubbing a used tampon on her roommate’s backpack.
Other reports indicated she had targeted her roommate, who posted a 1 ½-hour video on her Facebook discussing the alleged bullying. University of Hartford President Greg Woodward called the situation “deeply disturbing.”

MORE DETAILS EMERGE IN RUSSIA INVESTIGATION
New details about Paul Manafort and Rick Gates, indicted earlier this week for ties to Russian meddling in the 2016 election, are emerging. On Tuesday, a court filing revealed what the pair told banks and investigators about their net worth and recent travel history.
CNN reports the filing revealed, “Manafort currently has three US passports, each under a different number. He has submitted 10 passport applications in roughly as many years, prosecutors said.”
In addition, Manafort traveled to China, Mexico and Ecuador with a phone and email account under a fake name. The file also revealed that Manafort and Gates traveled frequently to Cyprus.
And then there’s the whole George Papadopoulos thing, which may be where the real trouble for President Trump, um, lies.

And as the New York Times put it, Every city wants a World Series victory. Nine weeks after Hurricane Harvey, Houston needed one.
